"I want to share some things I have learned about acne and how to support healthy skin. I had severe acne as a young child and into my teens. I was on antibiotics for my acne from the age of about 10 until 17. I'm sure you can imagine the trauma that caused to my gut! I bring up the gut because my research strongly correlates the health of the gut with the health of the skin. The following are my suggestions to those dealing with acne based on what I have learned.
1. Focus on oils that help topically. The HD Clear Skin Collection has a cleanser, lotion, and oil that are wonderful. One of my sons saw huge improvements to his acne using these three products as directed. Frankincense is great to help with scars. Melaleuca helps to dry up blemishes. One of my daughters rotates geranium, the purifying blend, and melaleuca on her face. I use coconut oil as my cleanser and moisturizer and then dab frankincense on any blemishes. (Google how to wash with coconut oil.)
2. Focus on the gut. One of my daughters takes a TerraZyme capsule with her meals, sometimes two if the meal has wheat in it. (Wheat is a trigger for many people. I don't know if i's the gluten or the nasty chemicals that are sprayed on the wheat.) PB Assist is another great supplement for gut health. Frankincense and DigestZen are very supportive to the lining of the gut as well. Those can be taken in a capsule once a day or in some water. Adding coconut oil to the diet is also helpful.
I have also noticed a huge correlation between sugar and acne. Sugar feeds the candida and other pathogens that are usually out of control in the gut of someone with acne. GX Assist is a good one to kill those nasties, but reducing the sugar WAY back in the diet is so helpful. That seems to be a key for helping acne in my experience".
A medical review has found that exposure to chemicals used to manufacture everyday items could be linked to brain development disorders in children.A number of common chemicals can interfere with thyroid hormone actions in pregnant women, essential for brain development in foetuses and young children, according to a report published in Endocrine Connections.
The increase in chemical production has led to "widespread environmental chemical contamination", the review found. Thyroid-disrupting chemicals in the environment pose real risks for child development and health, it added.
The review, by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Universite Paris-Sorbonne, examined published evidence of chemicals, such as pesticides and those used in the manufacture of drugs, cosmetics, furniture and plastics, that can all interfere with thyroid hormones.
It warned that current public health policy does not fully address the risks to vulnerable populations.
"Many experts in the field consider that the current testing guidelines for thyroid-disrupting chemicals are not sufficiently sensitive, do not take into account recent findings and do not adequately consider risks to vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women," Professor Barbara Demeneix, Universite Paris-Sorbonne, said.
Maternal thyroid hormones are essential for normal brain development of children and previous studies have found that even moderate disruption can affect cognitive development and increase the risk of brain developmental disorders in children.
Many of the benefits of essential oils have to do with their aromas. To see how different aromas and chemicals in essential oils effect on your emotions, check out the oil properties wheel. However, research also shows that essential oils can help the body in more ways. Physiology aside, whether or not an aroma is appealing to you depends on personal preference. So how do you know if you’ll like the scent of a blend of oils that you make yourself? This guide can help you decide.
First, you can categorize scents in different categories such as top, middle, or base notes. ("Note" refers to how long the scent usually lasts.) Top notes evaporate quickly and have the shortest life. Middle notes make up the majority of essential oils and take some time to establish their scent. Base notes are heavy and last the longest as they evaporate slowly.
There are also families of scent that apply to essential oils. We have included some of them below along with what ‘note’ each is considered:
Here are some examples of scent families that go well together:
Natural Garden Spray
This simple DIY uses the power of Peppermint oil to ward off unwanted visitors, keeping your home and garden happy.

One of the trickiest parts of building and maintaining a healthy garden is keeping pests out. Conventional insecticides contain harmful chemicals that could be dangerous to pets or family members. Luckily, essential oils contain powerful properties that can help keep your garden insect-free, the natural way. This simple DIY uses the power of Peppermint oil to ward off unwanted visitors, keeping your home and garden happy.
500 mL spray bottle
15 drops Cedarwood oil
15 drops Peppermint oil
Fill a 16 ounce glass spray bottle with water, leaving an inch or so of room at the top. Add 15–20 drops of Peppermint oil and shake well before each use. Apply spray to every plant in your garden, making sure to cover the stems and undersides of leaves as well. Spray again after each rainfall.
Note: To help kill weeds, you may substitute 8 ounces of water for 8 ounces of vinegar in this DIY.
If you choose to do so, do not apply directly to garden plants, and use white vinegar only.
Apple cider vinegar emits a sweet smell that fruit flies love, and can make a pest problem much worse.
Cinnamon, honey, and coconut chia dessert is a wonderful breakfast that tastes amazing!
You will need
One cup unsweetened plain almond milk
1/4 cup chia seeds
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon honey
100 grams of vanilla yogurt
1 drop of Cinnamon bark essential oil
This morning I made this yummy coffee and coconut chia pudding with bananas.
I actually added coffee in my coconut milk today. I loved it!
"Chia" means strength, and many cultures use the tiny black and white seeds as an energy booster. That makes sense, as chia seeds are a concentrated food containing healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium.
Eat your Chia every day!
Playing around in the kitchen with new recipes can always be a tricky business, these scrumptious cookies however, do not disappoint.

We all suffer from anxious feelings, stress and sleep issues. Life can be very busy and stressful sometimes and it can be hard to manage our mood and emotions. The first thing I want to say is, you are not alone, I’ve been there too. I’ve suffered from stress, worries and sleep issues. I wanted to know what can help me, what works, and I only wanted something safe and natural (not antidepressants, and sleeping pills that cause heart attacks and other health problems).
I started looking into the scientific research.
📚Psychopharmacology is the science and study of the chemical interaction aromatic molecules from plants have on the brain. Scientists have proven that emotions cause actions. There are many things that are expressed physically such as “gut feeling, my skin crawled, gave me goose bumps, my heart was pounding, I felt chocked up”. When we experience those emotions, there are chemical reactions that are happening in our body. 😥When you get upset or stressed, your brain starts to produce stress hormones and bad chemicals.
You consciously need to help yourself to process what is happening to you. You need to stop and think “ok, what am I gaining out of this, do I need to stress over this..?” 😊You need to learn to apply meaning and perspective in stressful situations, it will give you more purpose and meaning in life and trigger positive emotions and better feelings in your body.
We can do a lot of things to manage our emotions. Negative emotions INTERRUPT normal functioning of your brain IMMEDIATELY. Negative emotions impair logic, reason, language and communication.
❤️Deep breathing will calm your heart rate which will influence your emotions.
❤️With the help of essential oils, it will be easier for you to influence your emotions. Some of the effects of essential oils on the brain are *influence mood and emotions, support healthy brain function, protect neurones, penetrate cell membrane, protect against the effect of stress".
When you are inhaling an aromatic such as a Wild Orange, you think “It’s smells great”. It smells good and it makes you feel good, it produces a feel good dopamine. Essential oils will benefit you and your family in so many ways 💞
